Is the pool shared with anyone else?
The Barn is the only holiday let on the farm so the only others occasionally sharing the pool are our family. During your stay you will have exclusive use of the pool from 9am to 7pm.
What are the pool opening hours?
The pool is generally open from 9am to 7pm. At other times the pool is occasionally used by just our family.
Do i need to bring towels or bed linen?
No, beds are made up ready. Extra pillows are provided and additional blankets available on request. Also all towels, including pool towels are provided.
can i bring my dog?
Yes, you can bring up to two dogs providing they are generally well behaved and always kept under control while near the farm buildings as we do have several cats and sheep in the adjacent fields. Dogs do need to be selected as an optional extra item when you make a booking. Please see our T&C's for more info.
is there wifi?
Yes, The Barn has it's own WiFi. However as we are in a rural area speeds are limited to around 7Mb.
can i get a takeaway delivered?
Yes, there are a few excellent takeaways in the next village, St Clears. These include a very good Pizza/Kebab takeaway and an Indian restaurant/takeaway - both of which deliver. There is also an excellent Chip Shop (collection only) that does a good range of vegetarian and gluten-free options.
what do i need to bring?
The Barn is self-catering so you'll need to bring supplies for your stay, or arrange a Tesco/Asda delivery for the day you arrive. We'd be happy to take a delivery and stock it in The Barn ready for you. Bed linen and towels are provided so other than that, we'd suggest some clothes and swimming costumes!
Where's the nearest pub?
The nearest pub is The Fountain located in Meidrim Village a mile from The Barn. Popular with the locals you'll get a warm welcome and it's in a nice location next to the river and the village park. The Fountain is a cash only, small village pub and doesn't serve food so if you're looking for a meal to go with your pint then you'll need to go into St Clears or Carmarthen, or maybe a bit further afield and pick a spot down on the coast somewhere like Laugharne, Pendine or Amroth.
Is there sky tv?
No, we don't have Sky. However, the TV does have Freeview and Netflix already provided.
covid19 - what happens if we go into lockdown?
Please refer to our T&C's for more information. Basically you have the choice of a full refund (including deposit), or the option to transfer to another available date once restrictions are eased.
how much is the deposit?
The deposit required to secure any booking is typically 20% or a minimum of £100.
How far is it to the beach?
One of the nearest beaches is at Laugharne, which is a delightful little town with a castle, and famous for being the home of Dylan Thomas. Laugharne is a little under 20 minutes drive from The Barn. Further along the coast is the long, wide sandy beaches of Pendine. Famous for being where Malcolm Campbell set the land speed record in the 1920's. Pendine is approx a 25 min drive from The Barn.
